This Privacy Policy explains how Locksmith.contact ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit https://locksmith.contact or submit a request through our locksmith matching form. By using the site, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Service.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide: your ZIP code, phone number, whether your request is an emergency, and your language preference. We do not ask for and do not knowingly collect payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or passwords.
Information collected automatically: IP address, device type, browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and the date, time, and duration of your visit. This is collected through server logs, cookies, and similar technologies, including Google Tag Manager and the analytics tools it loads.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate the matching service: when you submit a request, we use your ZIP code to identify up to three independent locksmiths that serve your area and we share your phone number and request details with them so they can contact you. We also use information to operate, secure, and improve the site, to measure advertising performance, to prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.
3. Consent to Be Contacted
By submitting your phone number, you consent to be contacted by us and by the matched independent locksmiths by phone call and text message, including through automated technology, regarding your request. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of texts, or email us to withdraw consent.
4. How We Share Information
We share your request details (phone number, ZIP code, emergency flag, language) with up to three independent locksmith businesses matched to your request. Once shared, their use of your information is governed by their own practices; they are independent businesses, not our agents. We may also share information with service providers that help us run the site (hosting, analytics, messaging), with authorities when required by law or to protect our rights, and as part of a business transfer such as a sale or merger. We do not sell your personal information for money.
5. Cookies and Analytics
We use Google Tag Manager to manage measurement tags, which may set cookies or similar identifiers to analyze traffic and measure advertising. You can limit cookies through your browser settings; parts of the site will still work without them. Google's practices are described in Google's own privacy documentation.
6. Data Retention
We keep request data for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and meet legal requirements, then delete or anonymize it. You may request earlier deletion as described in Section 8.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you believe your information has been compromised.
8. Your Choices and Rights
You may opt out of text messages by replying STOP, and out of calls by telling the caller or emailing us. You may email [email protected] to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the information we hold about you, and we will respond as required by applicable law. Depending on your state of residence, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws; we honor verified requests as those laws require. We do not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
9. Do Not Track
Some browsers send "Do Not Track" signals. Like most sites, we do not currently respond to them.
10. Children's Privacy
The site is intended for adults 18 and older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
11. Links to Other Sites
The site links to third-party websites, including locksmith websites and social profiles. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their policies before providing them information.
12. Changes to This Policy
